Dr Ihsan Inan participated as international faculty in the Robotic Colorectal Surgery Course organised at IRCAD – Institut de Recherche contre les Cancers de l’Appareil Digestif in Strasbourg, one of the world’s leading centres for training in minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
The course gathered an international faculty of recognised experts in robotic colorectal surgery, under the direction of Professor Jacques Marescaux, bringing together surgeons from Europe, Asia and the Americas to discuss advanced techniques in robotic colon surgery.
Participation as faculty at IRCAD reflects recognition within the international community of robotic surgeons and represents a significant academic distinction within specialised training programmes.

Scientific Lecture
During the theoretical session dedicated to robotic colorectal surgery, Dr Inan delivered a lecture entitled:
“Simplified suprapubic open-book CME right colectomy.”
Robotic CME Right Colectomy
The presentation described a refined robotic approach to right colectomy with complete mesocolic excision (CME) using a suprapubic robotic configuration combined with an open-book exposure strategy.
Optimising Robotic Surgical Technique
The lecture focused on several key aspects of robotic colorectal surgery:
optimisation of anatomical exposure
oncological dissection respecting mesocolic planes
simplification and reproducibility of robotic right colectomy
The presentation was delivered within a scientific session dedicated to advanced robotic colon surgery alongside international leaders in the field.
High-Level International Faculty
The IRCAD robotic colorectal surgery course brought together internationally recognised experts in robotic colon and colorectal surgery, representing leading surgical centres across Europe, Asia and South America.
