Invited Faculty – Minimally Invasive Diastasis Masterclass – São Paulo

Dr Ihsan Inan participated as invited faculty at the Minimally Invasive Abdominal Diastasis Masterclass organised by Instituto Morrell, presenting robotic reconstruction techniques.

Dr Ihsan Inan participated as invited international faculty at the Minimally Invasive Abdominal Diastasis Masterclass, organised by Instituto Morrell, an educational programme dedicated to modern techniques in abdominal wall reconstruction.

The masterclass brought together surgeons specialised in abdominal wall surgery, hernia repair and minimally invasive techniques, with a focus on the evolving management of rectus diastasis and associated abdominal wall disorders.

The programme included expert lectures, surgical case discussions and step-by-step technical demonstrations aimed at refining operative strategies in minimally invasive abdominal wall reconstruction.

Expert Lecture - Robotic Repair of Diastasis Recti

During the masterclass, Dr Inan delivered a teaching session entitled:

“How I Do It – Step by Step.”

Step-by-Step Robotic Reconstruction

The presentation detailed a structured approach to robotic repair of rectus diastasis, focusing on the technical principles of reconstructing the linea alba through minimally invasive access.

The lecture addressed:

robotic posterior reconstruction of the midline
restoration of abdominal wall biomechanics
integration of mesh reinforcement when appropriate

These techniques aim to restore abdominal wall function while maintaining the benefits of robotic minimally invasive surgery.

Surgical Education in Abdominal Wall Reconstruction

Educational programmes such as the Minimally Invasive Diastasis Masterclass contribute to the international dissemination of advanced surgical strategies for abdominal wall reconstruction and robotic hernia surgery.

By bringing together surgeons from different regions, these events allow exchange of operative experience and discussion of evolving techniques in robotic abdominal wall surgery.

Participation as invited faculty reflects ongoing involvement in international surgical education and training in robotic abdominal wall reconstruction.

These activities also reflect the experience developed in specialised centres performing robotic abdominal wall surgery in Geneva.
