Faculty Participation – RISE 2025 International Surgical Symposium

Dr Ihsan Inan participated as invited faculty at RISE 2025 in Istanbul, presenting advances in ventral hernia repair and diastasis recti management within robotic abdominal wall surgery.

Dr Ihsan Inan participated as invited faculty at RISE 2025 – Research, Innovation, Surgery and Education, an international surgical symposium held in Istanbul.

This inaugural meeting brought together surgeons, educators, researchers and innovators from multiple countries to discuss the evolution of surgical science, clinical practice and modern surgical education. The symposium was organised with the participation of Harvard Medical School teaching faculty and gathered international leaders in advanced surgical techniques.

RISE represents a new high-level academic platform aimed at fostering collaboration between international surgical experts and promoting innovation in minimally invasive and robotic surgery.

Scientific Session - Abdominal Wall Hernia Surgery

Dr Inan contributed to the scientific programme during the session entitled:

“Innovations in Abdominal Wall Hernia Surgery.”

During this session he delivered two presentations addressing current developments in abdominal wall surgery:

• Updates on small to moderate ventral hernia management
• Updates in diastasis recti management

These lectures reviewed evolving surgical strategies for ventral hernia repair and diastasis recti reconstruction, with particular emphasis on minimally invasive and robotic approaches to abdominal wall restoration.

The session gathered internationally recognised experts discussing key topics including surgical mesh technology, abdominal wall reconstruction and management of mesh-related complications.

An International Platform for Surgical Innovation

RISE aims to establish a multidisciplinary academic forum dedicated to the future of surgery by bringing together specialists involved in research, innovation, surgical training and clinical practice.

Participation in the inaugural edition reflects ongoing involvement in international academic collaboration and surgical education, particularly in the field of abdominal wall reconstruction and robotic hernia surgery.
